Diana Ricker, a dedicated educator of children for 25 years and owner of Focus First Academic Coaching, writes about her passion for empowering students to believe in themselves, improving their self-awareness and confidence.

With a Bachelor’s degree in professional writing from Towson University and a Master’s in the teaching of writing completed in 2006, Diana brings a rich academic background to her work.

Her extensive experience includes presenting to over one thousand teachers as an expert in her field, both as an educator and writer. Diana is an active member of the Maryland Writing Project, a branch of the National Writing Project, dedicated to providing professional development for teachers.

Through her tutoring and academic coaching company, Diana focuses on helping students overcome learning challenges, leveraging her expertise to foster a supportive and encouraging environment where students can thrive.
